Lynching now punishable by death in West Bengal

Like any other murder, killings in mob attacks may now be punishable with death in Bengal. The state assembly on Friday unanimously passed the West Bengal (Prevention and Lynching) Bill 2019, which makes acts of lynching punishable by life sentence or death.
