Babul Supriyo pardons student after mom’s appeal

Hours after a cancer-stricken woman — with folded hands — requested that her son be spared, Union minister Babul Supriyo assured her that he won’t take any step against the youth who had allegedly attacked him on the Jadavpur University campus. Supriyo said he was hoping that the youth, Debanjan Ballav — who is not a student of the varsity — will learn his lesson from the entire episode and realize his mistake.
