JU students assess damage, peg loss at Rs 4L

Jadavpur University (JU) students, who surveyed the damage at the SFI union room just inside gate 4 and the Arts faculty building on Friday morning, have pegged the loss at Rs 4 lakh. While Rs 15,000 in cash was looted from a locked drawer, a desktop, a laptop, three cellphones and 10 cycles were either smashed or set on fire by ABVP activists who ran berserk on Friday evening.
