Kol: 1.4 cr at risk from sea-level rise by 2100

As many as 1.4 crore people in Kolkata — the highest among 20 cities worldwide with a population of more that 10 lakh (in 2005) — will be severely affected by rising sea levels because of melting Himalayan glaciers by the end of the century, a UN body on climate change claimed on Wednesday.
