Cops, WBPCB gear up to slap noise-rule violators with strict penalty

All-out efforts to keep noise pollution in check yielded results on Kali Puja/ Diwali night, with residents saying that bursting of high decibel crackers was less on Sunday than previous years. The West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) and Kolkata Police are now determined to keep the momentum going and deal with the complaints strictly to ensure strict action against violators.
