Bootleggers cash in on depleting liquor stocks

Depleting liquor stocks at homes have given the bootleggers an opportunity to make a fortune by selling whisky and rum at a huge premium. With more than a fortnight still to go before the lockdown is either lifted or extended further, suggestions have emerged on how to make a restricted availability of liquor for home consumption to not only rein in the risk of adulteration but also resolve the issue of stocks that retailers and clubs have as the excise department’s deadline of March 31 looms large.
