'Close down Baghjan oil field in Assam'

Pollution Control Board, Assam has issued a closure notice to Oil India Limited (OIL) directing it to ‘close down’ all its production, including drilling operations at Baghjan oil field in Assam’s Tinsukia district and to take all necessary measures for ‘extinguishing’ the fire from the well, which has been continuing since the explosion on June 9 following a blowout.
