Kol sees a 38% spike in crimes against elderly

The City of Joy might have beaten 18 others to emerge as the safest city in India in 2017, but according to data released by the National Crime Records Bureau, senior citizens continue to remain vulnerable. Crimes against the elderly in Kolkata have witnessed a 38 per cent jump — from 26 crimes recorded in 2016, the numbers rose to 36 in 2017.
