Cable-free Salt Lake skyline remains distant dream

Overhead cables continue to create a mess in major parts of Salt Lake which was supposed to get underground ducts for the wires. While the process to remove such cables mounted on lampposts in an ugly clutter has been started only in Sector V, the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is yet to take steps to free the entire township from overhead cables, many of which are dangling dangerously from lamppostsand trees.
