KMC may extend lease term of 172-bigha JU land

adavpur Univesity (JU) may permanently get to use the 172-bigha land that houses the campus. The university stands on the plot that was initially given to the now-defunct Bengal Technical Institute as a gift on lease almost 96 years ago when Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das helmed Kolkata Municipal Corporation (then called Calcutta Corporation) as its mayor. ​
