Cops wary of issuing spot challans in Covid season

Broken traffic signals, defunct CCTV cameras and weak signals between traffic guards and Lalbazar in the aftermath of Amphan have forced the men in uniform on duty to go back to the old practice of issuing spot challans to erring vehicles. Though cops are wary of any physical contact with commuters in the Covid-19 season, it will take some more time for the force to resume the digital mode of policing.
