E-carts to control garbage collection by yr end

Come May, the streets, lanes and by-lanes of Kolkata will wear a cleaner look, thanks to a garbage collection-&-disposal modernization plan adopted by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation solid waste management department. Under the project, the civic body will press into service 500 battery-operated vehicles in three months that will do rounds in the city to collect garbage.
