Tapas Paul lent his glamour to politics as a Tollywood hero, but politics gave him just a side role. Paul took the plunge at the peak of his acting career, only a year after he went to the Venice International Film Festival for the premiere of ‘Uttara’ in 2001, when few in Tollywood dared to ally with Mamata Banerjee.
