
Housing societies across the city are divided on whether to allow part-time maids into the complexes even after the ministry of home affairs (MHA), in its latest guidelines, has allowed domestic helps to work in societies and houses in non-containment zones from Monday. While elderly residents — especially those who are completely dependent on domestic helps — living in houses and stand-alone buildings heaved a sigh of relief at the MHA decision, most housing complexes have decided to keep the ban on their entry.
