Assamese singer Archana Mahanta dies at 72

Legendary Assamese singer Archana Mahanta, who along with her husband late Khagen Mahanta took Assamese folk music to new heights and treated audiences for decades, passed away in a city hospital on Thursday after prolonged illness. She was 72.
