
Bengal’s case fatality rate (CFR) has slid below the 2% mark for the first time since the state reported its first Covid death in late March. The CFR dropped below 2% for the first time on August 28 and has since been hovering around the 1.9% mark, which is marginally higher than the national average of 1.7%. On Monday, too, the state’s CFR stood unchanged at 1.9%.
