RMO shortage at pvt hosps hits Covid-fight plans

A dearth of trained resident medical officers (RMO), who can handle the increased Covid-induced pressure on ICUs, has hit private hospitals hard, forcing many to cancel or defer plans of adding beds. While some have employed their senior specialists to serve at ICUs, others are recruiting young doctors from their own training programmes, but still finding it difficult to meet the requirement.
