New SOP for cops as Covid takes a toll on force

The over 30-page standard operating procedure prepared by Lalbazar on Wednesday has asked all officers to wear three-layered masks and face shields while out on duty. In addition, all officers visiting a site for investigation will have to wear gloves before touching anything. Also, cops on duty on roads need to maintain a distance while checking cars. TOI reported about the SOP being prepared in Thursday’s edition. Lalbazar on Thursday said the SOP has attained greater importance after some fresh Covid cases in the force.
