Central order dampener for Bengal's liquor plans

A circular issued by the ministry of home affairs (MHA) on Wednesday came as a dampener on the initiative taken by the state excise department to deliver liquor at home. The circular has banned sale of liquor, gutka and tobacco in public spaces till May 3. Earlier in the day, before the circular was issued, several off-shop owners were coming around to the idea of home-delivering liquor, keeping within the guidelines. They turned sceptical following the circular.
