
A scarcity of gunny bags, owing to the closure of jute mills because of the lockdown, could pose a serious problem for farmers as Boro harvesting draws near, even as the shortage has already affected vegetable farmers — not only in Bengal, but across India — who use such bags to transport produce to wholesalers and retailers.
