Kolkata: Cops shift focus on lanes, bylanes to enforce lockdown

Last Sunday, when Shankar Haldar attempted to open his tea shop after assurance from local ‘dadas’ that there would be no trouble, local police arrived and promptly arrested him. In north Kolkata’s Chitpur, Rajbir Shaw had decided to walk down to the pan shop on Chitpur Road after locals said there was an interesting adda taking place on coronavirus there. Half an hour later, he and others, who were hanging out, landed in the police station.
