Govt aid for purohits; backing for Hindi, dalits

CM Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced a monthly stipend of Rs 1,000 and housing benefits for poor Brahmins (Hindu priests) as well as the establishment of a Dalit Academy and expansion of the Hindi Academy and the Rajbanshi Academy.
