Broadband connections for internet have seen a 30%-35% spurt in Kolkata due to a sudden jump in the number of professionals working from home and students attending online classes since the onset of Covid in late-March. On the other hand, cable TV subscription has plunged by 5%-8% between April and August, say cable trade insiders.
