New Town crash: Younger sister dies of injuries

The 27-year-old woman who sustained serious head injuries after the scooterette she was riding with her sister was hit by an SUV in New Town on Sunday, died at the Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata (INK) on Wednesday morning. Neha Giri was declared brain dead late on Tuesday and suffered a cardiac arrest at 8.30am on Wednesday. The TCS employee’s mortal remains will be taken to Bokaro — her hometown. SUV driver Kaushik Bera, who is being treated at a hospital, may soon be arrested, said Bidhannagar police officers.
