WB land rights for 12k refugees on govt, pvt plots

The Mamata Banerjee government on Monday handed over land rights to nearly 12,000 families living in refugee colonies, which came up on government- or privately owned property in Bengal. The documented right over land, officials said, would give these families one more proof of residence in India in the event of an NRC exercise here.
