Kol civic volunteer assaults phuchka seller, held

A civic volunteer working with Maniktala police was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly assaulting a phuchka seller who failed to meet his extortion demands. The accused, Swaraj Das alias Abhi, was charged for simple assault and wrongful restraint. He was granted bail by Sealdah court on Sunday.
