Safety on mind, KMDA wants Bijon Setu shut

The Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) is trying to speed up Bijon Setu’s structural stability assessment process. It has asked for dates from Kolkata Police to keep the bridge shut for 72 hours. With the structural condition of the bridge in a doubtful state, the agency is under pressure to come out with the report of the load capacity test that was supposed to be conducted before Puja.
