Citizenship (Amendment) Act protests: Divide dissolves as blockade-hit passengers get stuck on platform

The last train to Basirhat chugs out of Barasat station at11.05pm, carrying people from the hinterland back home. But Saturday was different. As soon as the train reached the station, the railway public address system announced that because of blockades ahead, the train would not go any further. The flicker of hope in the hearts of several hundred homeward-bound passengers went out.
