
Onion prices are not only pinching pockets across households but are also making restaurants shed tears. And if the pink bulb — that has now touched Rs 150 a kg across Kolkata markets — doesn’t turn cheaper within the next fortnight, several upscale eateries could be revising prices of dishes that depend heavily on the vegetable. A meeting of the Hotel and Restaurants’ Association of Eastern India (HRAEI) is set to consider a price revision this weekend.
