Guv visits CU; finds VC, pro-VC, registrar absent

Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, who is also the chancellor of all state universities, saw a repeat of Singur, Siliguri, Sandeshkhali and Hasnabad as he came up against a brick wall at Calcutta University when he went there on Wednesday afternoon. None of the senior university officials — the VC, the the pro-vice chancellor (academic) and the registrar — was in office when the chancellor went to meet them. This happened despite the governor giving “due notice early in the morning” about his visit.
