WB: 18 lifers get early release from 7 prisons

The state prison directorate on Thursday released 18 prisoners who were facing life sentences. The release is the highest since the 2012 apex court order which said the trial courts or courts which have confirmed the sentences must give their nod before any such prisoner is released pre-maturely.
