West Bengal: Gangasagar Mela to be plastic-free this year

In an effort to make Gangasagar Mela plastic-free, the state department of environment & PHE is making extensive arrangements, including introduction of paper cups and paper bags instead of plastic bags. In addition to that, the department is also setting up a plastic recycling unit at the mela premises so that used plastic bags and cups can be recycled.
