Violence during BJP-sponsored bandh in Bengal

Scattered incidents of violence, including torching of buses and clashes, occurred and 1,600 people were arrested during the 12-hour bandh called by the BJP in West Bengal on Wednesday to protest the death of two students in North Dinajpur district.
